Autoimmune neuropathies are a heterogeneus group of immune-mediated disorders affecting the peripheral nerves. The discovery of autoantibodies against peripheral nervous system antigens, including pathogenic antibodies targeting node of Ranvier proteins (NF140, NF186, NF155, CNTN1, CASPR1), has significantly transformed the diagnostic approach to these conditions. In this intriguing work, Pascual-Goñi et Al. offer a practical perspective on the role of autontibodies in the clinical assessment of autoimmune neuropathies.
