Head of the research laboratories of “Human Neurosciences, movement disorders and epilepsy” at the Department of Human Neurosciences, Sapienza, University of Rome. 

Research activity has been focused over the years on clinical neurophysiology and the use of neurophysiological techniques, including transcranial magnetic stimulation, and electrophysiological approaches investigating brainstem and spinal reflexes. Areas of specific interest have been the mechanisms of synaptic plasticity in primary motor cortex, cortico-cortical connectivity, motor learning and somatosensory temporal discrimination in healthy humans, in patients with multiple sclerosis and in patients with movement disorders.
