Waste clearance shapes aging brain health

In this review, Li-Feng Jiang-Xie et Al. describes the mechanisms linking brain health to fluid flow dynamics in the removal of harmful waste products. Aging alters these processes, increasing the risk of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Gaining insight into these changes may facilitate the discovery of new therapeutic targets for cognitive decline associated with aging.
